Laura Secord Legacy Trail – Decew Rd

$0.00

Delve into history along the Laura Secord Legacy Trail. During the War of 1812, the trail’s namesake walked for 32 kilometres to warn Lieutenant James Fitzgibbon of an impending attack. Like Laura Secord’s historic journey, the trail runs from Thorold to St. Catherines.

Start out from Laura Secord’s homestead, and walk or hike over five sections on footpaths and bridges, through forested trails and paved paths to DeCew House. The trail features a series of interpretive stories accessible via smartphone, with a focus on the region’s First Nations, Black history and more.
